Cybersecurity Defense Specialist

About the role

The Cybersecurity Defense Specialist will lead the protection, detection, response and resilience efforts against advanced cyber threats, including AI‑driven attacks, supply‑chain compromises and identity‑based intrusions. The role also coordinates volunteer management and supports emergency services during incidents while continuously refining security methodologies.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate external forensic and simulation services, define AI‑driven threat‑modeling strategies and analyze intelligence reports.
• Develop and update detection and containment strategies using AI/ML analytics, manage vendor risk and oversee playbook implementation.
• Oversee third‑party vulnerability scans, enforce compliance, prioritize zero‑day patches and integrate SBOM practices.
• Lead incident escalation, response and communication, produce operational security reports for senior management and improve playbooks for advanced scenarios.
• Drive Zero Trust architecture adoption, manage supply‑chain and third‑party risks, and oversee ethical AI use and defenses against prompt injection and data poisoning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Information Security, Computer Science, MIS or related field.
• Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
• 7+ years of multidisciplinary information security or IT experience.
• Strong knowledge of NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, Zero Trust and supply‑chain frameworks.
• Deep understanding of offensive TTPs, including AI‑augmented attacks.
• Experience with cloud security, identity and access management, and emerging threat programs.
• Proven experience in security vendor contracts, RFPs and related legal processes.
