Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Design Engineer to support our product development team at General Motors. You will work on component and subsystem designs, applying manufacturability and design‑for‑assembly principles while collaborating with cross‑functional engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Assist designers with design tasks, component requirements and virtual integration.
• Develop, refine and finalize design criteria, sections and standards in line with GM infoBOOK.
• Apply manufacturability, Design for Assembly and integration knowledge to parts and subsystems.
• Lead or participate in design and virtual reviews.
• Document and maintain material, mass and part specifications in the Math file.
• Perform NX analysis for subsystems and incorporate results with support from DLT or senior designers.
• Integrate component and subsystem designs into larger systems.
• Communicate project status, timing and technical issues to Design Manager, DLT and DRE.
• Ensure high‑quality, on‑time release of Math data for components and subsystems.
• Share lessons learned and recommend updates to best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Automotive Design Engineering or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of experience in mechanical design, plastic injection molding and thermoforming.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Required skills

• NX CAD software.
• SolidWorks CAD software.
• Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes.
• Knowledge of thermoforming processes.
