Design Engineer

About the role

Kautex is seeking a Design Engineer to contribute to the development and timely delivery of fuel, battery, SCR and other mechatronic systems for the automotive market. You will work within a global Tier‑One supplier environment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet customer and internal standards.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify and release 3D CAD data for mechatronic components.
• Perform vehicle package clearance analysis and GD&T application.
• Manage drawing creation, review, and change processes, including datum system coordination.
• Maintain data in PLM and customer databases, following Kautex data‑transfer guidelines.
• Conduct SDL (Simulation in the Design Loop) and FEA simulations during design iterations.
• Participate in design and drawing reviews, and support VAVE activities.
• Travel to manufacturing sites to understand production processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of design engineering experience in the automotive industry.
• International exposure (studying or working abroad) is a plus.
• Knowledge of plastics design and processes is highly valued.

Required skills

• Professional 3D CAD proficiency – preferably CATIA V5 or Unigraphics NX.
• Strong understanding of GD&T concepts and standards.
• Experience with PLM systems and customer databases.
• Ability to perform SDL and FEA simulations.
• Familiarity with DDX Trufusion data‑transfer tools.
• Knowledge of VAVE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) processes.
