Design & Release Engineer – Cold End Exhaust

About the role
The Design & Release Engineer will lead the design, development, timing and production release of vehicle exhaust systems and under‑body heat shields. You will drive quality improvements, cost optimisation and weight‑reduction initiatives while keeping management informed of technical status.
Key responsibilities
- Design and release of exhaust system components and heat shields for a vehicle line.
- Collaborate with suppliers, testing labs, CAE engineers, vehicle program teams, and manufacturing plants.
- Implement DFMEA, DVP&R and Six‑Sigma methodologies to ensure robust designs.
- Identify and execute value‑optimization and efficiency projects.
- Communicate technical product status and progress to internal stakeholders.
Required profile
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (ABET‑accredited) or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of automotive chassis or power‑train design/development experience.
- Strong problem‑solving, leadership and communication abilities.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20 %.
Required skills
- Proficiency with NX, TeamCenter and CoDeP.
- Experience using Siemens and Adobe Vis Mockup tools.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, DVP&R and Six Sigma (Green Belt) processes.
- Understanding of system/component design principles.
