About the role

Metalsa is seeking a Product Design Specialist to design and develop vehicle frame products using advanced CAD tools and GD&T. The role focuses on delivering functional, high‑performance, and manufacturable frames that meet weight, cost, and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3D models of full frames and sub‑frames following Metalsa Engineering Standards.
• Prepare Design Release Packages including 3D/2D CAD models, weld drawings, frame charts, and documentation.
• Develop GD&T specifications (ASME Y14.5) for components, sub‑assemblies, and assemblies.
• Provide design solutions for testing fixtures, shipping racks, coating racks, and tooling constraints.
• Participate in design reviews, manufacturing concern meetings, and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support DFMEA and PFMEA workshops and maintain product‑lifecycle documentation.
• Lead Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Lean projects to improve processes.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and quality management system requirements.

Required profile

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Advanced English proficiency (TOEFL iBT 94+).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar mechanical design role.

Required skills

• Advanced CAD (NX or CATIA).
• GD&T (ASME Y14.5) development.
• Finite Element Analysis (static, modal, dynamic, fatigue).
• Bench testing knowledge.
• Design standards: ISO TS‑16949, ASME Y14.5.
• Problem‑solving tools: A3, DFMEA, Fishbone, Pareto.
• Materials engineering and automotive design fundamentals.
• Manufacturing processes: forming, assembly, welding, logistics.
• Design for Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
