Guest Service Officer

About the role

The Guest Service Officer provides friendly, passionate, and committed service to guests aboard a cruise ship. You will actively listen to guest concerns, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a high level of satisfaction throughout the voyage.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests and respond to inquiries with a positive attitude.
• Assist guests in resolving issues, complaints, or special requests.
• Handle cash transactions, understand US currency and exchange rates, and process payments accurately.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephones, computers, and copy machines.
• Communicate effectively with department heads and shipboard staff to negotiate resolutions.
• Maintain organized records and follow written procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum one year of experience in a customer‑contact role within the hotel or related hospitality industry.
• At least one year of cash‑handling experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
• Willingness to work onboard for a period of 5‑6 months.
• Fluent spoken and written English; additional languages (e.g., Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish) are essential.
