Industrial Engineer

About the role

Hunter Douglas is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to support production layout design and process optimization across its North American facilities. Based in Monterrey, the role involves analytical support for 16 plants and occasional travel to other sites in Mexico and the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze current manufacturing processes to assess capacity, flow, and cycle time.
• Develop and run simulation models for production lines using Simion or similar tools.
• Update and maintain plant layouts in AutoCAD.
• Generate and manage projects aimed at increasing output and reducing labor content.
• Optimize the overall footprint of North American facilities.
• Collaborate with Production, Automation, Continuous Improvement, Quality, and Process Engineering teams to drive improvements.
• Travel approximately once a month to plants in Mexico and the United States.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial engineering or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of Lean tools and ability to work closely with production teams.
• Fluent written and spoken communication in both Spanish and English.
• Willingness to travel regularly.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD for layout design.
• Experience with simulation software such as Simion or comparable platforms.
• Application of Lean methodologies for process improvement.
