Industrial Engineering SME II (FlexSim)

About the role

Jabil is looking for an Industrial Engineering SME II in Guadalajara. The role plans, designs, implements and manages integrated production and service delivery systems so that performance, reliability, maintainability, schedule adherence and cost control are assured at the site or region. It aims for profitability, effectiveness, adaptability, responsiveness, quality and continuous improvement of products and services.

Key responsibilities

• Act as project leader and supervisor for the site or region, leading complex projects that eliminate waste through standard industrial engineering processes, including complex process simulation, operations research and business model cost analysis.
• Evaluate large-scale challenges in workforce utilization, facility layout and operational data such as production costs, process flow charts and end-to-end value stream analysis.
• Lead cross-functional projects and act as subject matter expert in all global and regional IE systems, applications and practices.
• Communicate key IE metrics to regional teams and clarify and define standardized SAP and Manufacturing Execution System configurations.
• Prepare complex quotes for new large-scale manufacturing projects, including line design, labor, equipment sizing, capital and infrastructure.
• Support Business Unit Coordinators, Business Unit Managers and Site Management on process reliability, profitability and project assumptions.
• Lead process improvement for new product introduction, coach and train engineers, and develop new IE best practices and data integrity for the Lean organization.
• Ensure standardization of Jabil processes across the site and comply with company security procedures.

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering; MS in Industrial Engineering or MBA preferred.
• Lean Master's certificate or Six Sigma Silver preferred.
• At least 12 years of experience, with 7 years in industrial engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Typically reports to a Senior Manager, Director or VP, and does not manage other employees.

Required skills

• Industrial engineering tools: work measurement, simulation, process mapping, facility and workstation design, operations research.
• Strong financial and analytical ability (P&L, planning, delivery).
• Knowledge of health and safety standards and quality systems for manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD.
• Data science skills preferred.
