Lead Automation Design Engineer

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Lead Automation Design Engineer in Guadalajara to lead the design and execution of automation engineering projects, such as mechanical, electrical, electronics or software application areas. The position leads and oversees a team of design engineers so that project requirements, specifications, plans, designs and installations are achieved, and delivers automation equipment within budget and on time. It also supports the Senior Manager of Automation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a group of Automation Design Engineers.
• Review and approve design drawings, user manuals and installation manuals.
• Work closely with the Project Manager/Engineer to meet project timelines and budgets.
• Lead the team in reviewing, understanding and interpreting requirements so they are integrated into the design.
• Lead design engineers in reviewing design and manufacturability.
• Ensure all engineering hours are logged in JP2 and linked to the projects.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Mechanical or Electronics/Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in automation equipment design and installation.

Required skills

• Expert knowledge of mechanical, electronics, electrical and software application engineering.
• Expert knowledge of the EMS industry.
• Expert knowledge of automation design and installation.
