Interiors Design and Release Engineer Jr - Seats Components

About the role

ALTEN Mexico, an engineering company working with industries such as automotive, energy, aeronautics, banking, telecom and rail, is looking for an Interiors Design and Release Engineer to join its team. The engineer is responsible for the design, development, validation, timing and production release of interior components and systems, working with cross-functional teams to improve the design and release processes. The current focus is seats components.

Key responsibilities

• Handle component and system level design, development, validation, timing and production release of seats components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate design and development of interior systems.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the design and release processes.

Required profile

• 1 to 3 years of experience reviewing, validating and releasing designs for automotive seats components.
• Experience with complete seats, trim covers, foams, headrests and armrests.
• Experience with materials such as foam, cloth, leather, vinyl, PP, ABS, metallic structures or electronic components.
• Intermediate-advanced English (B2-C1), with technical comprehension and ability to communicate in an international team.
• Valid visa is optional.

Required skills

• CATIA V5/3DX or NX for 3D/2D model review.
• PLM (Teamcenter) for documentation and release management.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Manufacturing processes such as injection molding, thermoforming and plastic welding.
• PBOM, eBOM, DVP&R and technical sheet management.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs.
• Knowledge of style freeze processes and theme evaluation.
• In-plant experience (tool tryouts, assembly, program launch).
• Familiarity with automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949.
