International Truck Driver – Border Crossing (Shipping & Receiving Clerk IV)

About the role

Chromalloy is seeking an experienced international truck driver to transport cargo trucks and freight units from Mexican yards (e.g., Mexicali, Tijuana) across the U.S. border to assigned warehouses (e.g., Calexico, San Diego). The position requires same‑day delivery while ensuring full compliance with customs and safety regulations of both countries.

Key responsibilities

• Drive freight units through Mexican and U.S. fiscal precincts, handling all border‑crossing procedures.
• Verify export permits, e‑Manifests, and customs paperwork against the actual merchandise.
• Perform pre‑trip vehicle inspections in line with DOT regulations.
• Follow anti‑smuggling and anti‑terrorism protocols (C‑TPAT, FAST, OEA).
• Maintain constant communication with Traffic, Operations, and Customs Brokers regarding inspections or delays.
• Hitch/unhitch trailers and unload merchandise at U.S. yards for immediate return trips.

Required profile

• Valid U.S. visa (B1/B2, Border Crossing Card, or work visa) and valid Mexican Federal Driver’s License (Type B, C, or E).
• Valid Mexican passport.
• FAST Card holder (preferred or mandatory per company policy).
• 2–3 years operating cargo vans, tractor‑trailers, or heavy‑duty trucks; at least 1 year of border‑crossing experience.
• Pass a preventative transportation medical exam.

Required skills

• Knowledge of DOT hours‑of‑service and logbook rules.
• Familiarity with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
• Ability to follow security certifications such as C‑TPAT, FAST, and OEA.
