Shipping Supervisor

About the role

The Shipping Supervisor leads the daily outbound shipping operations for Intuitive, ensuring shipments are executed safely, accurately and on time while complying with internal procedures and regulations. Reporting to the Materials Management Director, the role oversees a team of shipping personnel, coordinates with internal departments and drives continuous improvement in shipping performance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop staffing projections and forecast workload to support departmental planning.
• Track daily and shift shipment activity, guaranteeing all outbound deliveries meet deadlines and service levels.
• Address performance issues, issue corrective or disciplinary actions, and maintain documentation per company policy.
• Measure, analyze and report team performance metrics, and implement actions to meet targets.
• Process and administer payroll for shipping staff, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Monitor operational metrics, resolve urgent shipping requests and adjust priorities to ensure on‑time shipment completion.
• Maintain shipping documentation, ensure audit readiness and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Manage purchase orders for packaging materials through the Coupa system, maintaining appropriate inventory levels.
• Promote a collaborative, team‑oriented environment across shifts.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising shipping or logistics teams in a manufacturing or medical‑device environment.
• Strong cross‑functional communication and hands‑on leadership style.
• Detail‑oriented with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Ability to analyze performance data and drive corrective actions.
• Experience handling payroll and staffing administration.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Coupa procurement system.
