Manufacturing Engineer – Plant ME

About the role

Joyson Safety Systems is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to lead and coordinate engineering activities for seatbelt assembly operations at its Apodaca plant. You will ensure stable, efficient, and compliant production processes while driving continuous improvement and supporting new product launches.

Key responsibilities

• Optimize manufacturing processes such as webbing cutting, tipper sewing, lacing, sleeve assembly, box stitch, and end‑of‑line testing for efficiency, quality, and safety.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, OEE improvement, and waste‑reduction initiatives.
• Define and maintain standard work, process documentation, and engineering specifications.
• Ensure process capability (Cpk/Cmk) and compliance with customer and internal standards.
• Support APQP new‑product launches, including PFMEA, Control Plans, Run@Rate, and validation activities.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone) for production and quality issues.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Quality, Production, and Central Engineering to resolve technical problems.
• Oversee implementation and validation of equipment, tooling, fixtures, and automation systems.
• Integrate traceability systems (barcode, scanners, SAP/MES) and monitor KPIs such as OEE, efficiency, scrap, downtime, and throughput.
• Support internal, customer, and IATF audits and manage engineering changes (ECN/ECR).
