Master Scheduler (Production Scheduler)

About the role

Johnson Controls is looking for a Master Scheduler who works closely with sales and the plant to set up production plans that enable the plant to succeed. The role develops the production schedule, communicates it across the organization and manages all plan changes, acting as the main contact for sales, logistics and manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Create assembly-line-specific build schedules for the near term (0-12 weeks) and align with Sales and Demand planning on build requirements.
• Work with Manufacturing Engineers to account for shop constraints and with Supply Chain Planning for capacity, mix and logistics constraints.
• Build the plan using Theory of Constraints and optimization techniques to achieve the right build mix, efficient shop runs and the lowest-cost build plan.
• Lead change management when issues arise during the frozen window (1 week), such as urgent sales changes, equipment breakdowns or material shortages, and coordinate the introduction of NPI into production.
• Take part in daily plant reviews, attend program launch meetings, and own weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on plant status and performance, pulling data from the ERP and production systems and visualizing it with Tableau and Power BI.
• Define business requirements and use cases to drive software development.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a certification such as CPIM or CSCP.
• 3-5 years of experience in materials management, production planning or material scheduling in a manufacturing company.
• Strong analytical capabilities, statistical knowledge applied to product and process improvement, and a solid grasp of manufacturing principles (process, information and material flow).
• Initiative, leadership, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a willingness to travel 5-10%.

Required skills

• SAP proficiency preferred.
• MS Excel and Tableau strongly desired.
