Mechanical Process and Automation Engineer

About the role

Bosch is looking for a Mechanical Process and Automation Engineer in Ciudad Juárez. The engineer implements, maintains and improves manufacturing processes and ensures the technical availability of equipment in all shifts, aiming to improve Value Stream KPIs such as relative utilization, internal defect cost, first-off rate and technical downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and improve manufacturing processes and ensure equipment availability in all shifts.
• Support new product introduction: define, acquire, validate, install and release processes and equipment, and take part in APQP planning (EWAK runs, pre-PV, PV, SOP).
• Develop procedures, instructions and training material for process technicians and for TPM, and train production and technical personnel.
• Develop maintenance plans covering preventive, predictive and corrective approaches, and TPM schedules and SMED changeover standards.
• Define machine spare and wear parts, control process parameters and comply with machine capability and MSA standards.
• Take part in PFMEA and control plans, use problem-solving techniques to find root causes, and share lessons learned across plants.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics, electromechanical, mechatronics, digital systems and communications engineering or a related field; master's degree preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience as a mechanical process or maintenance engineer.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work in cross-functional teams, and excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Required skills

• GD&T certification.
• CAD design with SolidWorks or similar mechanical design software.
• Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
• PLC programming (Bosch Rexroth, Allen Bradley, Siemens, MicroLogix) and robotics (Staubli, Fanuc) are a plus.
