Medical Science Liaison – Oncology

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Oncology will serve as AbbVie’s scientific bridge with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders in the oncology therapeutic area. Working in the field, the MSL will provide accurate, non‑promotional scientific information about AbbVie’s marketed products and pipeline candidates, supporting safe and effective use.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the subject‑matter expert for the assigned oncology therapeutic area and territory.
• Develop and execute scientific interaction and cycle plans with external experts.
• Maintain tiering and segmentation of experts, documenting interactions and insights in internal systems.
• Facilitate research collaborations, educational initiatives, and respond to scientific information requests.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for account planning and strategic activities.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD) preferred; relevant undergraduate degree with experience also considered.
• Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical environment and the role of Medical Affairs.
• Demonstrated expertise in scientific methods for clinical research and understanding of regulatory controls.
• Ability to quickly learn new therapeutic areas and excellent written and spoken communication skills.
