Offshore Physician – Emergency Medical Care

About the role

The Offshore Physician provides primary and emergency medical care to employees, contractors and subcontractor personnel at remote worksites such as drilling rigs, hazardous construction zones and high‑density workforce areas. The role includes clinical assessment, emergency response, and health‑safety oversight in accordance with client and Remote Healthcare Provider (RHCP) guidelines.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver urgent and emergency medical care to all workers on‑site.
• Perform accurate clinical assessments and examinations.
• Maintain up‑to‑date individual medical records using a computer‑based medical record system.
• Report medical treatments in line with client requirements.
• Travel with patients to the nearest approved medical facility when necessary.
• Ensure critical medical supplies and equipment are pre‑packed and ready for emergency use.
• Participate in client‑organized simulation exercises.
• Conduct safety checks and evaluations of medical gear and equipment.
• Follow RHCP, Recordable Case Management (RCM) and Medical Emergency Response Plan (MERP) procedures.
• Coordinate with client Environment Health & Safety (EHS) and operations personnel during emergencies.

Required profile

• Medical qualification enabling provision of primary and emergency care.
• Fluent English language skills.
• Ability to travel to remote offshore sites and to transport patients to medical facilities.
• Familiarity with RHCP, RCM and MERP guidelines.
• Capability to manage medical supplies, equipment maintenance and health‑hygiene controls.
