Payroll Specialist – Mexico Payroll Operations

About the role

The Payroll Specialist will manage end‑to‑end payroll processing for multiple Mexican legal entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution. You will work closely with HR, Finance, and external vendors as a subject‑matter expert on Mexican payroll regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi‑weekly payrolls for three companies, including complex calculations, adjustments, off‑cycle payments and final settlements.
• Handle special payroll processes such as annual ISR adjustment, PTU, Christmas bonus (aguinaldo) and savings fund contributions.
• Maintain compliance with Mexican labor and statutory regulations (LFT, IMSS, INFONAVIT, ICSOE, SISUB, SAT).
• Manage employee payroll data across systems like Tress, UKG WFM, SAP and Workday.
• Generate payroll reports for Finance, Accounting and leadership, including variable SBC reports.
• Support internal and external audits and collaborate with HR, Finance and third‑party vendors.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of proven experience managing Mexican payroll and deep knowledge of related regulations.
• Hands‑on experience with payroll/HR systems such as Tress, UKG WFM, SAP or Workday.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, with high attention to detail.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources or related field preferred.
