Permitting and Regulatory Compliance Manager - Mexico

About the role
Acciona is seeking a Permitting and Regulatory Compliance Manager for its WIFA project in Mexico. The role leads the development, coordination and acquisition of all environmental, permitting and regulatory approvals required for project components, ensuring compliance with Mexican federal, state and local regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement the permitting and regulatory strategy for WIFA Mexico, identifying all required permits, licenses and approvals.
- Establish permitting schedules aligned with project milestones and monitor progress.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with Mexican regulations, track changes and maintain compliance tracking systems.
- Act as primary liaison with regulatory authorities, environmental agencies and water infrastructure bodies.
- Coordinate with engineering, environmental, legal and construction teams to align designs with permitting requirements.
- Support preparation and review of environmental impact assessments, technical documentation and permit applications.
- Facilitate cross‑border alignment between Mexico‑based activities and U.S. WIFA program objectives.
Required profile
- Proven experience leading permitting and regulatory compliance for large infrastructure projects.
- In‑depth knowledge of Mexican federal, state and municipal environmental, water‑rights and land‑use regulations.
- Strong ability to coordinate with government agencies, external consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent analytical skills to assess regulatory changes and their impact on project delivery.
