Principal Test Engineer (Level V)

About the role

Jabil is hiring a Principal Test Engineer (Level V) in Guadalajara. The role continuously improves core competency, develops test solution proposals, builds test solutions and provides test crisis support, exercising judgment in choosing methods and techniques within broadly defined practices and policies.

Key responsibilities

• Develop test solution proposals, including price and schedule commitments, preliminary test specifications, hardware and software descriptions, documentation packages, tester validation criteria, support requirements and customer deliverables, using GTS RFQ forms, quote tracking and FVT proposal templates, and completing proposals on schedule.
• Develop test specifications and solutions for projects of low to high complexity, within budget and schedule commitments, covering design for test, design, assembly, debug, validation, deployment and emergency support of electrical, mechanical, optical hardware and software.
• Support the GTS hotline and special support requests.
• Take part in the GTS core competency improvement program and in efforts to improve GTS tools and systems.
• Drive continuous product and service improvement with vendors and customers, and learn to solve problems outside past areas of proficiency.
• Contribute to industry recognition through active membership in two professional organizations, published articles and speaking at industry events.
• Follow safety, health and security rules and company procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from a four-year institution; Master's preferred.
• More than eight years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and regulations, write reports and correspondence, and present information to managers, clients and customers.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
