Process Control Manager

About the role

Orbia's Polymer Solutions (Vestolit) business develops PVC solutions for industries and infrastructure worldwide. It is seeking a Process Control Manager to lead process optimization and control system initiatives across several manufacturing sites. The role applies advanced process control, automation, data analytics and Industry 4.0 solutions to improve plant performance, reliability, safety and efficiency. The position is based in Altamira and requires frequent international travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the global Process Control strategy aligned with business and operational objectives.
• Lead process optimization, operational excellence and digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing facilities.
• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, process stability, asset reliability, product quality and energy use.
• Drive implementation and continuous improvement of Advanced Process Control (APC), automation systems and digital technologies.
• Work with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Technology teams to deliver sustainable improvements.
• Analyze operational and production data to find trends, diagnose gaps and develop data-driven solutions.
• Support reliability and asset integrity programs through automation and process control improvements.
• Manage and prioritize process control projects from concept to implementation.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to teams across multiple locations.
• Evaluate emerging technologies such as AI and advanced analytics to drive innovation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, Automation or Control Systems Engineering or a related technical field.
• At least 8 years of experience in process control, automation, process optimization or operational excellence in chemical, petrochemical, mining or other continuous process industries.
• Demonstrated experience leading digital transformation, operational excellence or process improvement initiatives.
• Experience using process data analytics to improve plant performance.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish; valid passport and ability to travel globally.

Required skills

• Strong expertise in DCS, PLC and SCADA systems.
• Experience with major automation platforms such as Emerson, ABB, Honeywell, Siemens or Yokogawa.
• Knowledge of APC, IIoT, Industry 4.0, machine learning or AI in manufacturing is highly desirable.
• Project management and stakeholder management skills.
