Product Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Product Engineer to drive the launch of new furniture products at MillerKnoll. You will collaborate with engineering, design, and cross‑functional teams to turn concepts into mass‑produced items while maintaining the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with internal and external stakeholders to execute prototype development on schedule.
• Lead product design from concept through to mass production, creating detailed specifications, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Generate and maintain accurate engineering specification drawings and modify CAD models to support manufacturing and purchasing.
• Coordinate all CAD activities within each project and ensure alignment with tooling requirements.
• Work with Quality to verify process capability and support day‑to‑day production issues.
• Identify and implement cost‑saving and scrap‑reduction initiatives.
• Participate in cross‑functional product development teams and mentor colleagues on technical standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in product development, preferably in furniture or related industries.
• Proven ability to manage large CAD projects and deliver detailed engineering documentation.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Advanced CAD proficiency (CREO preferred).
• CNC programming for wood and experience with textile CNC cutters (Gerber preferred).
• Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and temporary deviation management.
• Reverse engineering and design of upholstered furniture components.
• Hands‑on experience with frame construction, foam, and upholstery.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and cost‑improvement techniques.
