Product Owner - Navigator Platform

About the role

Johnson Controls is looking for a Product Owner for its Monterrey office, a hybrid position (3 days a week in the office). The Product Owner joins and helps lead one or more Scrum teams contributing to the Navigator Platform, acting as the main link between Product Management, User Experience and Development teams so that solutions meet business and customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Translate business needs into user stories, use cases and software requirements, and maintain and prioritize the Scrum backlog and sprint forecasts.
• Coordinate with Product Owners and business leaders to turn prioritized requirements into planned user stories, and guide the release plan including quality goals, testing, documentation, training and deployment.
• Prioritize work, resolve priority conflicts, and balance priority against speed to market.
• Mitigate risks, negotiate non-functional requirements and technical debt with Product Management, and manage dependencies with the Scrum Master.
• Defend the Scrum teams, remove impediments, and coach other POs and BAs.
• Maintain long-term relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or a related technical field.
• 8+ years in a technology-related field with exposure to Product Development and/or Product Management.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional global Product Development teams.
• Flexibility to work early hours to meet international teams.
• Preferred: Business Analyst, Development/Test Lead, Project Management or Product Management experience; Product Owner experience or equivalent in an agile environment; BAS, HVAC, fire detection, access control or related experience; online sales experience.
