Senior Software Engineer - Java

About the role

Trellint is looking for a Senior Java developer leader in Monterrey who has relational database backend experience and a forward-looking approach to AI-augmented development. The main task is to design and develop complex transportation applications and coordinate with the rest of the team across infrastructure layers to build scalable solutions, with modern AI tooling integrated into every phase of the development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop major complex system components, using AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude and Cursor to speed up code completion, unit tests and delivery.
• Deliver production-quality code for presentation, middle-tier and data-tier layers, with AI assistance for refactoring and bug detection.
• Review peer code, including AI-generated contributions, for correctness, security and standards compliance.
• Work with product and technical leads on requirements, using AI summarization to draft documentation and user stories.
• Mentor other developers in using AI coding assistants responsibly.
• Own developer testing, using AI-powered test generation to reach high coverage with less manual work.
• Debug new and existing code, applying AI-assisted root cause analysis, and resolve complex production issues from client environments when needed.
• Maintain documentation of procedures, standards and design with AI writing assistants.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing enterprise Java applications.
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code for accuracy, security and business alignment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Required skills

• Java, JDK 1.6+, JEE6, JDBC and SQL; Java Web Services, JUnit, Git/Subversion.
• IBM WebSphere and MQ Manager.
• Linux; Red Hat Enterprise Server experience desirable.
• Object-oriented analysis and design, ERD, UML and Agile.
• Databases: Oracle 19c and MS SQL.
• Build and CI: Git, Apache Maven and Jenkins.
