Software Development Manager - Java/.NET

About the role

Trellint is looking for an experienced Software Development Manager to lead, build and enhance its application suite covering enforcement, adjudication and permits. The role calls for strong technical expertise in Java and/or .NET, proven team leadership and experience managing development teams, with a focus on integrating AI tools into the development lifecycle. It involves goal setting, leadership and cross-functional collaboration with developers, product managers, operations and QA.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a mixed team of Java.NET and VB developers, and use AI tools for code reviews and AI-powered test generation (unit, integration, regression)
• Ensure financial and time tracking is used to follow budget guidelines and QSRs
• Oversee enterprise-level application development, code quality, performance and scalability, and guide the team's adoption of AI coding assistants (Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT) and AI-assisted migration of legacy code
• Plan, prioritize and manage development tasks, collaborate with product managers on requirements, and track progress and risks
• Integrate the batch backend team with frontend Java teams and help shape backend APIs and ticket-processing architecture
• Work with QA teams on testing strategies, champion AI-generated test cases, support production issue resolution and suggest workflow automation

Required profile

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot, Claude Code or ChatGPT for augmented coding and DevOps workflows
• Ability to work with and enhance existing code bases (Java.NET, VB) and knowledge of modern coding standards
• Preferred: proficiency in Java and .NET, familiarity with Claude Code, CA Scheduler and batch processing, MS Azure, Oracle and SQL Server databases, Windows Server, unit testing and front- and back-end development
