Production & Maintenance Manager

About the role

ABB is hiring a Production & Maintenance Manager for its Nogales Transformers Plant in Nogales. The role reports to the Manufacturing Unit Manager Transformers and covers leading production and maintenance operations so that manufacturing is safe, efficient and cost-effective, while meeting customers' expectations for quality and delivery. Global relocation or long-term assignment support is not considered.

Key responsibilities

• Lead production and maintenance operations to meet targets for safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost.
• Develop and run operational plans, budgets, KPIs and improvement initiatives.
• Work with Quality, Manufacturing, Planning, Fulfillment and Engineering teams to improve customer satisfaction, efficiency, equipment reliability and inventory management.
• Build a strong safety culture by complying with health, safety and environmental regulations and taking preventive action.
• Build, coach and lead high-performing teams through performance management and talent development.
• Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement focused on waste reduction and cost optimization.
• Oversee maintenance strategies, reliability programs, lifecycle management and capital improvement projects to maximize equipment availability.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Technology or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience leading manufacturing operations and maintenance teams in an industrial setting.
• Strong leadership, people management and change management skills.
• Advanced written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Experience managing budgets, operational KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Problem-solving and decision-making in complex, ambiguous situations.
• Experience in cross-functional environments.
