Receptionist – Guest Services on Luxury Cruise Ship

About the role

The Receptionist will be the first point of contact for guests aboard a luxury cruise ship, delivering exceptional service at the front desk. You will manage guest inquiries, financial transactions, and coordinate with multiple onboard departments to ensure a seamless experience.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality guest service at the reception desk, handling check‑ins, check‑outs and special requests.
• Respond promptly to guest enquiries, complaints and follow‑up to guarantee satisfaction.
• Process financial transactions such as cash payments, traveller’s checks, foreign currency exchange and credit card authorisations, reconciling cash at the end of each cruise.
• Manage daily desk duties including RSVP invitations, mail service, DVD/CD rentals, newspaper distribution, restaurant reservations and wake‑up calls.
• Maintain clear communication with the Guest Relations Manager and other ship departments.
• Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures and uphold moral integrity.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in guest‑facing or front‑desk roles within an international 5‑star or luxury hospitality environment.
• Excellent verbal and written English; advanced proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, German or French is highly desirable.
• Strong administrative abilities, well‑organized, self‑motivated and able to work calmly under pressure.
• Moral integrity and a genuine hospitality mindset.

Required skills

• Basic accounting knowledge for handling cash and financial reconciliations.
