Receptionist – Guest Services on Luxury Cruise Ship

About the role

We are seeking a professional Receptionist to join our shipboard team, delivering exceptional guest services on a luxury cruise vessel. The role requires a polished front‑desk presence, strong administrative abilities, and the capacity to handle a fast‑paced, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide courteous and efficient service at the reception desk, addressing guest inquiries, requests, and complaints promptly.
• Coordinate guest needs, including restaurant reservations, wake‑up calls, mailing services, DVD/CD rentals, and newspaper deliveries.
• Process financial transactions such as cash payments, foreign‑currency exchange, credit‑card authorisations, and cash advances, reconciling with the Financial Officer at the end of each cruise.
• Maintain clear communication with the Guest Relations Manager and other ship departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Adhere to company Standard Operating Procedures and uphold the highest standards of hospitality.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of front‑desk or guest‑services experience in a 5‑star international or luxury hospitality setting.
• Excellent verbal and written English; advanced proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, German or French is highly desirable.
• Strong moral integrity, adaptability, quick decision‑making under pressure, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Self‑motivated, well‑organized, and capable of managing multiple demands while remaining calm.
