Remote Software Engineer – Open Source Contributor

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to contribute high‑quality code to open‑source projects on a contract basis. This remote position offers flexibility while allowing you to work on complex algorithms and large‑scale distributed systems.

Key responsibilities

• Write, review, and document production‑ready code for open‑source repositories.
• Design, implement, and optimise algorithms and system components.
• Identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and technical challenges.
• Collaborate with other contributors and stakeholders to align deliverables with project goals.
• Maintain and enhance technical documentation for knowledge sharing.
• Participate in code discussions and provide constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Proven experience contributing to open‑source projects with visible GitHub or GitLab activity.
• Strong background in C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Experience with large‑scale, distributed codebases is preferred.
• Familiarity with modern AI or machine‑learning systems is a plus.
