RTO Consultant – Hybrid (Mexico City)

About the role

We are looking for an RTO Consultant to join our team in Mexico City. The role supports the RTO team in feasibility studies, design and implementation of projects that improve margin, customer satisfaction, schedule, working capital and safety. You will act as the technical interface with customers and ensure engineered solutions meet project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Perform feasibility studies and design project implementations aligned with RTO objectives.
• Document processes and train customer technicians, operators and maintenance staff.
• Maintain technical liaison with customers, defining and agreeing project requirements.
• Ensure engineered solutions comply with functionality, standards, quality and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during project execution.
• Monitor project scope, control changes, and identify risks and opportunities.
• Review process flow diagrams and P&IDs, update databases, perform complex calculations and data analysis.
• Contribute to pre‑engineering activities by identifying required customer information.
• Support sales by estimating engineering scope, preparing proposals and delivering presentations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in process optimization, process control or chemical engineering.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.

Required skills

• Proficiency with chemical process simulation tools such as AVEVA Process Optimizer, AVEVA PRO/II, AVEVA Dynamic Simulation, Aspen Plus and Aspen HYSYS.
• Strong knowledge of plant processes and operations for refining and petrochemical units.
• Competence in reviewing and modifying process flow diagrams and P&IDs.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office suite.
