Sales Development Representative

About the role

Alibaba.com is expanding its sales team in Mexico City and seeks a bilingual outbound Sales Development Representative. You will focus on generating qualified opportunities for the US‑based sales team by contacting business owners and decision‑makers across the Americas.

Key responsibilities

• Make high‑volume outbound calls to potential business customers, primarily in the United States.
• Introduce Alibaba.com, qualify interest, and assess fit for platform membership.
• Book qualified demos and meetings for the US sales closing team.
• Follow up consistently via phone, email, and approved outreach channels.
• Maintain accurate records of calls, lead status, and next steps in the CRM.
• Collaborate with the sales team to improve lead quality, conversion rates, and demo show‑up rates.
• Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets for outbound activity, qualified leads, and booked demos.

Required profile

• Previous experience in outbound sales, cold calling, telemarketing, appointment setting, lead generation, or call‑center sales.
• Comfort with making a high volume of outbound calls each day.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher (C1 preferred) and ability to communicate professionally with US‑based decision‑makers.
• Resilient, persistent, and motivated by performance metrics and targets.
• Strong listening skills and ability to quickly identify customer needs.
• Organized and disciplined in tracking follow‑ups and sales activity.
