Seat Complete Engineer

About the role

The Seat Complete Engineer in Product Development leads the integration of all components of a vehicle seat system, guiding the concept from early design through full industrialisation and vehicle integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, release and launch seat systems or components through the GPDS process (PRE‑PSC to J1).
• Manage quality, weight, cost and timing (QWCT) for assigned parts.
• Participate in and sometimes lead program meetings such as To4, Seat Complete, EMMs, TDRMs, supplier and purchasing meetings.
• Develop and execute design verification plans and support vehicle‑level DVP, ensuring compliance with System Design Specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Create and maintain project timing/Gantt charts and capture lessons learned for the core team.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional groups (Seat Structure, Studio, Safety, Tool Shop, Purchasing, Finance, etc.) to meet design intent.
• Lead the integration of seating components into the complete seat system.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Project.
• Fluent English (reading, listening, writing) and strong Spanish communication skills.
• Experience in seat system or component design, product development and verification/validation.
• Knowledge of FEDE, ADS, FSMS, GPDS, E2KS, WERS and FMEA methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D engineering drawings with GD&T.
• Basic knowledge of Teamcenter, Tc VisMockup and CATIA.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to Dearborn, supplier sites and Ford assembly plants.
