Senior Accountant – Hospitality Industry

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a Senior Accountant with a focus on the hospitality sector. The role will support multiple client properties, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls in a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Drive month‑end and year‑end close processes, preparing P&L and balance sheet statements in compliance with US GAAP.
• Streamline balance‑sheet reconciliations and manage increasing volume as new clients are onboarded.
• Handle journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting across multiple properties or client accounts.
• Integrate and operate hospitality and accounting platforms to process daily financial data.
• Identify and implement workflow improvements to enhance efficiency and client service.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality, property accounting, or outsourced accounting services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, full‑cycle accounting, and internal control principles.
• Self‑starter with high accountability, able to work independently in a rapid‑growth environment.

Required skills

• Experience with hospitality systems such as Opera, Sertifi, or Toast.
• Familiarity with accounting platforms Acumatica, Ottimate, and ProfitSword.
• Proficiency in journal entry preparation and full‑cycle account reconciliations.
