Senior Accountant – Hybrid (Chihuahua City)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team in a hybrid capacity based in Chihuahua City, Mexico. The role will oversee the accounting function for four distinct legal entities, including a nonprofit organization, ensuring accurate records and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records in QuickBooks for four legal entities, ensuring proper segregation by entity, class, and fund.
• Record daily financial transactions, including bank activity, journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and intercompany activity.
• Perform monthly bank and credit‑card reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and maintain documentation for cash transactions.
• Process vendor bills, payments, employee reimbursements, and manage customer invoicing, receipts, and deposits.
• Record, track, and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances, ensuring proper documentation and elimination for reporting.
• Maintain nonprofit financial records, track restricted/unrestricted funds, grants, and donations, and ensure correct expense classification.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end close activities, prepare balance sheet, income statement, and cash‑flow reports with appropriate reconciliations.
• Prepare financial reports and management summaries, analyze results, identify trends, and support budgeting and forecasting.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulations, maintain organized records for audits and tax filings, and coordinate with external accountants.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and system efficiency within QuickBooks.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accounting experience with responsibility for multiple legal entities.
• Proven experience in nonprofit accounting and fund tracking.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial results and support decision‑making.
• Demonstrated capability to meet month‑end and year‑end close deadlines.
• Experience coordinating with auditors, external accountants, and tax preparers.
