Senior Accountant – Vacation Rental Portfolio (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant with direct vacation‑rental industry experience to join our remote team. The role focuses on onboarding new clients, customizing accounting workflows, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for short‑term rental businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support client onboarding, ensuring accurate and efficient setup of accounting systems.
• Customize and streamline accounting workflows tailored to each vacation‑rental client.
• Manage and review financial statements, reconciliations, and month‑end close.
• Work with vacation‑rental platforms such as PMS, channel managers, and trust accounting systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry‑specific accounting standards and best practices.
• Identify process improvements and implement scalable accounting solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve efficiency and client experience.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert for vacation‑rental accounting.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accounting experience (5+ years preferred).
• Direct vacation‑rental accounting experience (required).
• Strong understanding of trust accounting, owner statements, and property‑level reporting.
• Experience onboarding new clients and setting up accounting systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and process‑driven.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

Required skills

• QuickBooks (or similar accounting software).
• AppFolio (or similar vacation‑rental platforms).
• Property Management System (PMS) integration.
• Channel manager tools.
• Trust accounting system proficiency.
