Senior Agronomist - Blueberry Farming (Relocation to Middle East)

About the role

GATESOURCE HR is recruiting an experienced Senior Agronomist with at least 10 years of expertise in blueberry cultivation to help build a thriving blueberry sector in the Middle East. The role leads technical and agronomic strategies to optimise blueberry production, ensuring high yields and superior fruit quality in challenging climatic conditions. Relocation to the Middle East is required.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement best agronomic practices for blueberry cultivation in arid and semi-arid climates.
• Provide technical leadership on soil preparation, irrigation management, pest control and disease prevention.
• Oversee crop monitoring, nutrition programmes and post-harvest handling to improve yield and quality.
• Introduce and apply technologies such as controlled-environment farming and precision irrigation.
• Train and mentor local farm staff in modern agronomic practices.
• Run field trials and research to improve the productivity and adaptability of blueberry varieties.
• Collaborate with farm managers, supply chain specialists and agribusiness stakeholders, and ensure compliance with international food safety and agricultural standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Agronomy, Horticulture or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in blueberry farming, including large-scale commercial operations.
• Experience in diverse climatic conditions, preferably warm or arid regions.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Willingness to relocate overseas.
