Senior Buyer – Tooling & Equipment

About the role

Ford of Mexico is seeking a strategic Senior Buyer to lead the sourcing of machinery, tooling and equipment that keep our manufacturing lines running efficiently. You will shape sourcing strategies, negotiate high‑value contracts and partner with internal teams to ensure cost‑effective, on‑time delivery of critical assets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for tooling and equipment, including market research and supplier qualification.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing terms and service agreements while managing risk and ensuring compliance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive reliability and continuous improvement.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities through detailed cost analysis and negotiation.
• Monitor market trends and forecast demand to proactively manage supply risk.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and finance to align procurement with business priorities and report performance metrics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in procurement or sourcing, preferably with capital equipment.
• Proven track record of successful negotiations and measurable cost reductions.
• Strong analytical abilities and excellent communication skills.
