Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

About the role

Mastercard’s Internal Cloud Platforms team is looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to maintain and operate a range of cloud services in Mexico City. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from designing infrastructure to taking ownership of new environments, and you will be on‑call to handle incidents across cloud, PaaS, Kubernetes and pipeline platforms.

Key responsibilities

• React to and resolve incidents in cloud, PaaS, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipeline platforms, including on‑call duties outside regular hours.
• Develop and maintain monitoring systems that reduce manual intervention.
• Automate detection and recovery of common operational problems with high‑quality code.
• Contribute to system resiliency by improving designs and automating repetitive tasks.
• Identify and create reusable automation for initial responders to quickly resolve issues.

Required profile

• Deep understanding of cloud operational duties and security best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with platforms such as vSphere, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes and Concourse pipelines.
• Familiarity with XML Gateways, API technologies and F5 load balancers (preferred).
• Ability to write robust automation scripts in one or more programming languages.
• Fluent English communication skills.
