Senior Coordinator – Super Pollutants Accelerator (Mexico)

About the role
The Senior Coordinator will support the Government of Mexico in the effective implementation and oversight of the Super Pollutants Accelerator programme. Working under the policy direction of SEMARNAT and with technical assistance from INECC, the role is based in Mexico City for a 12‑month contract.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the implementation of multisectoral mitigation strategies aligned with Mexico’s SLCP commitments.
- Monitor progress, produce technical reports and ensure compliance with national legislation.
- Facilitate engagement of national stakeholders in regional and international climate and air‑quality forums.
- Provide strategic guidance to SEMARNAT and liaise with the Climate and Clean Air Coalition and UNEP.
- Support the development and scaling of mitigation projects across priority sectors.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in environmental science, climate policy, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in climate, air‑quality or related programmes, preferably with government partners.
- Demonstrated knowledge of short‑lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) and related mitigation measures.
- Fluency in English and Spanish.
- Ability to work on‑site in Mexico City and travel as required.

- Expertise in climate and clean‑air policy development.
- Strong project coordination and monitoring capabilities.
- Experience with national environmental legislation and institutional strengthening.
- Advanced analytical and reporting skills.
