Senior Employment Counsel, International Lifecycle

About the role

Justworks is seeking an experienced employment lawyer to provide senior legal counsel on complex international employment lifecycle matters within its Employer of Record (EOR) offering. You will translate intricate legal issues into practical guidance, helping operational teams navigate terminations, performance management, leave, and employee relations with confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the legal workstream for sensitive, complex, or escalated EOR lifecycle matters, including terminations, redundancies, settlements, protected leave, accommodations, and pay equity.
• Partner with regional employment counsel to ensure compliance with local‑law requirements.
• Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, Payroll, Benefits, Product, Sales, and outside counsel to drive practical resolutions.
• Develop standards, playbooks, escalation paths, decision frameworks, documentation expectations, and training programs for routine lifecycle matters.
• Identify when legal involvement is required and provide clear, business‑oriented judgment.

Required profile

• Experienced employment lawyer with a strong background in international EOR environments.
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate lifecycle risk and partner with local experts.
• Excellent communication skills and a steady approach to sensitive employee issues.
• Proven track record of creating scalable processes and documentation.
