Senior Medical Technologist (Home Based)

ICON Strategic Solutions is hiring a Senior Medical Technologist for a home-based position in Mexico City, working in a sponsor-dedicated model supported by ICON's global expertise. The Senior Medical Technologist conducts complex laboratory analyses and tests to support clinical trials and research studies.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of scientific operations deliverables and apply expertise to complex challenges.
• Perform advanced laboratory tests and analyses according to SOPs and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee laboratory operations, including sample processing, equipment maintenance and quality control, to meet accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with clinical research teams on study design and laboratory methods aligned with project goals.
• Interpret and validate test results, provide technical expertise and troubleshoot laboratory issues.
• Train and mentor junior laboratory staff, promoting safety, quality and continuous improvement.
• Help develop and implement laboratory protocols and assist with audits and inspections by providing documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline or laboratory science.
• Extensive experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with a strong understanding of laboratory operations and quality assurance.
• Proven ability to perform complex laboratory tests and analyses, with expertise in specific areas of medical technology.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Legal right to work in the country where the role is based.

Required skills

• Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR)
