Senior Tax Specialist – Mexico

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Specialist to lead Mexican tax compliance and act as a strategic partner for the business. The role combines day‑to‑day compliance with proactive tax planning to influence commercial decisions. Based in Mexico City with a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all Mexican tax obligations, including VAT, Income Tax, withholding taxes, and local taxes.
• Assess tax implications of business transactions, new projects, and commercial initiatives.
• Identify tax risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support tax audits and manage interactions with the tax authority (SAT).
• Review tax calculations, filings, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor changes in Mexican tax legislation and lead implementation of required adjustments.
• Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transactions when applicable.
• Improve tax processes and internal controls to enhance governance.
• Collaborate with external advisors when specialized support is required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of progressive corporate tax experience, preferably in multinational companies.
• Proven ability to support business decisions from a tax perspective.
• Advanced/Fluent English (mandatory).

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Mexican tax legislation.
• Experience with complex tax matters.
• Solid understanding of accounting‑tax interaction.
