Senior Technical Business Unit Manager

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Senior Technical Business Unit Manager in Guadalajara. The role aligns the assigned global customer's technology roadmap with Jabil's own technology roadmap, sells Jabil's value-added design, layout and Global Operations services, and provides management and oversight of the Technical Business Unit Managers (TBUMs) assigned globally to support the customer. It also carries full accountability for multi-site project budgets and schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure Jabil's integration into the customer's technology roadmap and act as the main escalation point between Jabil Design and the mass-production business unit.
• Own the relationship with the customer's design and central engineering group and serve as the primary technical contact across multiple global Jabil sites.
• Develop, manage and deliver highly complex technology projects, including detailed Statements of Work, business proposals, project schedules and financials, and design service agreements.
• Sell and increase exposure of Jabil's design, layout and Global Operations services within the customer's organization, and act as the first point of contact for early supplier involvement on new R&D projects.
• Manage the BU's global technical team, development operations across multiple sites, and coordinate numerous technical projects and TBUMs to deliver a cohesive technology plan.
• Monitor costs and cost trends, manage the Jabil Design forecast and workcell statement process, and carry P&L responsibility for technical projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
• Engineering or Computer Science degree preferred.
• 12 years of work-related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 8 years with a Master's degree, preferably in engineering or technology fields.
• PMP certification preferred.

Required skills

• Excellent technical skills in engineering, R&D and product design/development aligned to the assigned sector or customer.
• Strong financial skills (balance sheet and income statement) and operational knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain.
• Knowledge of Jabil tools (financial system, AROD, quote process).
• Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software, and strong project management skills.
