Software Engineer III (Java)

About the role

JPMorgan Chase is looking for a seasoned Software Engineer III to join the Payouts Technology team. You will work in an agile environment to design, develop, and maintain market‑leading technology solutions that are secure, stable, and scalable.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot Java‑based software solutions using Spring Boot.
• Produce high‑quality production code and maintain synchronous algorithms across systems.
• Create architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
• Analyze large data sets, develop visualizations, and generate reports to drive continuous improvement.
• Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to improve code hygiene and system architecture.
• Contribute to engineering communities, share knowledge of emerging technologies, and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion.

Required profile

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience working in a large corporate environment with modern programming and database languages.
• Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies (CI/CD, resiliency, security).
