Software Engineer MTS - Force.com

About the role

Salesforce IT is hiring a Software Engineer MTS for its Force.com team in Mexico City, on a hybrid basis. The engineer designs and develops high-performing software applications on Force.com, working with other engineers, designers and product owners to build new applications on large-scale projects and enhance existing functionality. The role suits someone who is a self-starter, takes ownership, works under pressure and handles several tasks at once.

Key responsibilities

• Build applications on Salesforce with a holistic mindset
• Plan, design and implement highly scalable frameworks for web applications on desktop and mobile
• Design applications with architects and lead engineers, using object-oriented design patterns
• Create test suites aiming for 100% test coverage, following best practices in SDLC, Agile and software development
• Develop unit and functional automated tests in Java and/or Apex, and write test plans and strategies
• Diagnose, track and manage quality issues, working with quality engineers, business analysts and product owners
• Ensure product quality meets customer expectations

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or engineering
• 3+ years with a Master's or 5+ years of programming in Java, C or .NET
• 2+ years developing on the Force.com platform
• 2+ years of web development with server-side code, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• Strong fundamentals and mastery of quality assurance processes
• Ability to communicate status and risk to the team and manager, and to take ownership of projects

Required skills

• Object-oriented design and design patterns
• Web services with SOAP and REST
• Query languages SOQL or SQL
• Java and/or Apex, and strong database concepts and data modeling

Desired skills

• Force.com knowledge (Apex, VisualForce) and Admin or Developer certification
• JUnit, Jenkins, Selenium, source control management, TDD and CI
• Salesforce Lightning, Angular, React or Vue, and Scrum/Agile experience
