Software Engineer (Scala/Java) – Remote (Mexico)

About the role

HERE Technologies is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Automotive Products HD Map Publication team. You will help build large‑scale, distributed processes that generate high‑definition maps for autonomous vehicles, working remotely from anywhere in Mexico.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Scala or Java code for processing massive sensor datasets on AWS EMR.
• Write unit tests and use Maven or sbt for builds.
• Participate in code reviews, peer testing and defect resolution.
• Collaborate with a scrum team to gather requirements and design software components.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling and build infrastructure.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong problem‑solving, debugging and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in English communication, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Scala or Java programming.
• Experience with Maven or sbt build tools.
• Object‑oriented and functional programming concepts.
• Working knowledge of AWS services and GitLab.
