Software Test Engineer II

About the role

Jabil is hiring a Software Test Engineer II in Guadalajara. The engineer delivers integrated hardware/software solutions to Jabil's customers, including automated production test platforms and embedded designs, and builds and maintains Windows and web applications that support customer and manufacturing needs. The role sits within a development organization focused on high-reliability, integrated solutions that improve manufacturing processes and the user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and troubleshoot complex software applications, enterprise web applications and test scripts.
• Assist the Project Manager with information needed for the software development quoting process.
• Communicate with team members to clarify design requirements and overcome obstacles.
• Take part in project reviews with the Principal Software Test Engineer, Project Manager and key stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and fix bugs in production software, and deliver a data package of requirements, design docs, source code and executables to the Project Manager.
• Mentor other Software Engineers and follow software design best practices.
• Identify and mitigate technical project risks and give input on them.
• Participate in code reviews and use version control systems such as Subversion.
• Collaborate with the IT team, follow department processes and comply with security and safety policies.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of all stages of the SDLC.
• Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge.
• Technical knowledge of database design, administration and development.
• Experience developing complex SQL Server T-SQL queries, including stored procedures, functions, triggers and views.
• Experience writing scripts in JabilTest, LabVIEW, LabWindows, Tcl, Perl, Python or UNIX shell.
• Positive team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills and motivation to learn new technologies.

Required skills

• C# and .NET for Windows applications.
• Web development with ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, XML, JSON, HTML, CSS and MS SQL Server.
• Experience installing, configuring and managing servers, including OS, RAID arrays, IIS, database backups, user accounts and security, and troubleshooting system issues.
• Experience with versioning and revision control systems.
