Technical Specialist – Super Pollutants Accelerator (Mexico)

About the role
The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is seeking a Technical Specialist to support Mexico’s Super Pollutants Accelerator. The role will provide scientific and technical leadership to ensure short‑lived climate pollutant (SLCP) mitigation is fully integrated into national climate commitments, strategies and sectoral policies.
Key responsibilities
- Provide technical input and science‑based information to government agencies and key stakeholders.
- Ensure that technical assistance projects are evidence‑based, effective and aligned with global best practices.
- Support the integration of SLCP mitigation (methane, black carbon, HFCs, tropospheric ozone) into Mexico’s NDC3.0 implementation plans and the National Climate Change Strategy (ENACC/PECC).
- Coordinate with the CCAC Secretariat and national teams to deploy scalable mitigation models in priority sectors.
- Monitor progress and report on the Accelerator’s outcomes.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in environmental science, climate policy, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in SLCP mitigation and climate‑air quality integration.
- Strong understanding of Mexico’s climate commitments and sectoral policies.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with government, UN bodies and civil‑society partners.
Required skills
- Knowledge of short‑lived climate pollutants (methane, black carbon, HFCs, tropospheric ozone).
- Ability to translate scientific evidence into policy‑relevant recommendations.
