Test Engineer IV - Workcell Lead

About the role

Jabil is hiring a Test Engineer IV in Guadalajara to lead and direct the workcell test engineering staff. The role covers designing, developing and maintaining test procedures, tester hardware and software for electronic circuit board production, and acting as a Lead Project Engineer for the assigned customer workcell.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, interview and coach Test Engineers and technicians, including communicating criteria for Test Engineer III candidates and monitoring turnover.
• Identify development needs, create or validate training curricula, mentor staff and give ongoing coaching and counseling.
• Set measurable goals, collect feedback from managers and peers, run professional evaluations and drive continuous improvement in operational metrics.
• Define and implement test engineering strategies aligned with campus direction, manage costs by streamlining processes and report cost trends to the Test Engineering Manager.
• Lead the workcell team as a Lead Project Engineer, communicate design and development to the customer's engineering staff and assign Test Engineers to customer workcells.
• Manage the engineering test function for standard and custom devices, evaluate test procedures and equipment, and recommend process changes.
• Develop special test equipment and software, train customers on new products, explore new test technologies and analyze test quality trends to drive corrective actions.
• Monitor NPI activities through the assigned test engineer and follow safety, health and security policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Electronics or Electrical Engineering from a college or university.
• Ten years of experience.
