Procurement Buyer – Mexico

About the role

AkzoNobel is looking for a Procurement Buyer to support its operations in Mexico. The role will drive implementation of supplier performance improvement programs, execute local sourcing strategies, and act as the primary procurement interface for internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and lead local projects to optimise minimum order quantities, ordering volumes, lead times and payment terms.
• Drive change management for QDCIS projects and support value‑engineering savings initiatives.
• Implement material cost‑reduction initiatives and communicate local requirements to regional or global sourcing teams.
• Conduct commercial negotiations and manage relationships with suppliers delegated by the regional procurement organisation.
• Support price‑change management, including creation and maintenance of purchasing info‑records and outline agreements.
• Collaborate with site Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, and Commercial teams; act as first escalation point for supplier issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or a related field (Master’s or procurement accreditation is a plus).
• 2‑3 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain within an international environment.
• Fluency in English.
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
